OHSAA and C&S Sports Enterprises Join Forces for Hoop FanFest

Columbus, Ohio — The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and C&S Sports Enterprises, LLC, have entered into a three-year agreement to sponsor the first basketball championship celebration, Hoop FanFest, beginning in March 2008. Hoop FanFest is an interactive basketball extravaganza that will compliment the OHSAA’s girls and boys state basketball tournaments. The annual event will highlight the past, present and future of Ohio high school basketball and allow for a hands-on experience for fans of all ages.

The Hoop FanFest will be held in the auxiliary gymnasium of The Schottenstein Center on The Ohio State University campus, during the finals of the OHSAA girls and boys state basketball tournaments on Saturday, March 8 and 15, respectively. The schedule for the Hoop FanFest will be developing over the next few months but will coincide with the four championship games that tip off both days at 10:45 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. There will be no cost to be admitted to the Hoop FanFest or for all the attractions.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, C&S Sports Enterprises will help fund the following initiatives for the OHSAA’s state basketball tournaments:

  • Promote the OHSAA’s state basketball tournaments and Hoop FanFest to all high schools, coaches, students, parents and communities.
  • Invite corporate sponsors to get involved with Ohio high school basketball and pledge their support to the games.
  • Plan the events for both the girls and boys Championship Saturdays that will include free clinics, motivational speakers, celebrity guest appearances, free throw shooting contests and 3-point shooting contests.
  • Provide marketing, printing, signage, direct mail campaigns, promotional materials and media coverage for Hoop FanFest.
